Epic fail by Celine Dion
While we were out with the sisters-in-law yesterday I saw a 50s diner called Nickels. I figured I could get a burger and milk shake so we decided to give it a try. Rachel told me the restaurant was created by Celine Dion. Well, Celine Dion, your restaurant sucks.
My milk shake was possibly the worst shake of all time. If I had ordered 2% chocolate milk it would have been thicker than their milk shake. The burger was well, gross, not to be out done by the utterly plain fries. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had a burger worse than this one.
Our waitress was pretty bad too, but she could have just been having a bad day so I’ll let that one slide. When I went to pay the girl behind the counter she was on her phone complaining to what I assumed was her boyfriend about which party they should attend that night. Classy.
Anyways, this is my recommendation to never goto Nickels. Do yourself a favour and step up to some much higher quality food at McDonalds.

Just doesn’t compare to Broadway Cafe… Except maybe the table space… and the company, but we can fix that next time.

Actually the table space at Nickels was brutal too. We sat at booth for 4 and it wasn’t exactly roomie.

That will teach you for loving Celine Dion.

He he… you could have discovered that much sooner. Remember that night in Ottawa when we talked half way across the market for Poutine, only to discover the place we were trying to go to was closed? That was Nickels. After the bar in the summer, Poutine on the patio was good, but I guess there’s a reason it closed…

Ah, I hope they all go out of business. We went to the Hard Rock Cafe last night. Now that’s a much better burger/shake. Service was not excellent but at least the food was really good.
