Halloween in Ottawa
Rach and I went to Ottawa for Halloween for Chris and Tracy’s 70s Halloween party. I’m not a big fan of Halloween (I quite dislike it) but I gave in to go anyways since I was promised burgers that would rival Fudds. We got to Ottawa noonish on Saturday and went to “The Works” for burgers. Fudds has a much simpler menu (mainly because you create your own burger) compared to The Works which as like 50 different types of burgers. They had burgers with Kraft dinner in them, peanut butter, and pretty much anything you can think of. I ended up getting the Kamikaze (their super hot burger, which was OK) and a chocolate milkshake to see if it was any better than malts at Fudds. I think I still prefer Fudds but if you are ever stuck out East and want a burger The Works is the place to go.
I didn’t prepare anything for my costume so it was just left over stuff that Tracy/Chris had around the house. Rachel got a hold of some authentic clothes that were a secretary wore to work. The shorts were, short. I didn’t take many pictures at the 70s party but here are pictures of us before everyone else showed up:
There was a guy at the party that does puppeteer work (his website) for a bunch of movies. I was quite intrigued with all the different stuff that he has done (Farscape for one). Since he lived next door he took me over to see his workshop with all the different puppets he worked on and was creating. It was awesome. When we went back to the party he brought one his puppets with him which Rach and I played around with a bit.
Today we got up at noon and went for some Montreal style bagels in Ottawa. I was told this was the best place in Ottawa to try them but I was still quite disappointed. I’ll stick with The Real Canadian Bagel. We stopped at Costco on the way home where some little kid pointed at me and said “Are you Michael Jackson?” For the record, I am not Michael Jackson.
