The last week in Saskatoon

My last week in Saskatoon went by super quick. I finished up my ultimate frisbee season which was nice to get out of the way. I think the ‘A’ league is a bit much for me. I booked in restaurant outings to all my favorite places before leaving (this was a high importance task to me). I went to Keo’s twice since it’s so damn good.

I failed making any hair appointment with my hair dresser before leaving Saskatoon. Rach wasn’t impressed that I was just going to leave my hair so she called up a new hair dresser for me (Hemant’s “hot” hair dresser that he recommended). I felt pretty guilty about cheating on my hair dresser but in the end it was worth it. The new hair dresser did a decent job, she was much hotter, and there were no birds flying around while I got my hair cut.

On our last weekend Rach and I went to Dale and April’s wedding out at the Berry Barn. The Berry Barn turned out to be a pretty awesome place to have a wedding. The only down side is you get stuck using porta-potties. Rach and I ended up helping take photos for the wedding and working on their guest book for most of the night. It was good for me to try out the new camera and Rach got to do some semi-scrapbooking. I think the guest book turned out pretty good.

We went back to North Battleford to see my parents before taking off (they also filled up our RAV4 with gas and made me some apple crisp… mmmmm). Dad showed me this squirrel in the back yard that likes to throw acorns down on the ground. It was pretty funny when he threw about 10 acorns/minute while running around in the trees.  Dad was pretty upset that the ground was covered with 1000s of acorns that the lawn mower wouldn’t pick up.  I got a picture of him throwing an acorn down:

The day after Rachel’s parents treated us to a meal at The Keg (which was on my restaurant list).  Rach and I spent the rest of the night compressing and packing our stuff into the RAV4.  We had plenty of space this time since we left a bunch of stuff in Montreal over summer.  I’m always stressing out how we have to get everything into the car when we leave in May 2008.  I don’t want to drive back to SK with a trailer so I’m always on Rachel’s case to leave things at home.

My last day in Saskatoon was spent working and then driving all the way to Winnipeg.  The 2nd day we drove from 6:30am to 11:30pm and tried to tackle as much distance as we could.  We slept just outside Chicago so that the next day we could make it to Niagara Falls by early afternoon.  More posts to come on our time in Niagara and Toronto.
