The golf tournament

Well this week I managed to convince Rachel to let me buy a new camera. I’ve been wanting to get a digital SLR for awhile now so it was nice to finally check that one off. I ended up getting a Nikon D40 with the kit lens (18-55mm) and a Nikon 55-200mm VR lens. Pretty much it means with the 2 lenses that we’ll have about 10x zoom (which is the same we had in our old camera). Hopefully this new purchase will reduce the number of times Rach and I fight over the camera when we are out.

I also purchased a used windsurfer this week. I was really meaning on taking some pictures of it (especially since I could have been using the new camera) but by the time we had it all taken apart and put under the deck in Waskesiu it was too late. I paid $125 and got 1 board, 2 masts, 3 sails, 2 sets of boots, 1 set of gloves, and 1 harness. It was a pretty hard deal to pass up. I’m pretty sure I’ll never be able to put it all back together without some help. At any rate, next year I plan on going at least once. Lofty goals I have.

On the weekend, Rach and I went up to the Rosthern golf course for a Point2 social event. Rach and I were teamed up with Melanie and Ryan for the texas scramble. We came in 2nd last with 10 over par. We couldn’t even suck enough to get the booby prize. Hemant took a bunch of pictures at the event so you can check them out on his flickr page. For supper we had steak, chicken, hot dogs, and Fudds cookies. I ate way too much but it was totally worth it. After supper Hemant, Ryan and I went to take over the playground.

Haven't fallen yet

We also hit the big slide. It was awful wet when we went down. Someone said it was probably urine. I just pretended it was lemon juice.

7 more days in Saskatoon.
