The week ahead
What have I done the last couple weeks? Well I did leave the apartment. I know, crazy. Rach and I delayed Valentine’s day since there was a storm coming through on the 14th. We ended up going out on the weekend instead to a Mexican restaurant called “La Fiesta”. The food was nothing special. They had some guys playing music but I guess I gave them the stare “I’m not tipping you” so they left us alone. They did play the Guantanamera song that we heard all the time in Cuba so that was nice.
We made another trip out to Costco but this time instead of getting lost trying to find it (yes, we get lost pretty much every time we go) we decided to print off a map. When we went to the Costco site we found out there was a Costco that was 10km closer. I find that every costco is a little different and I doubt I’ll ever find a perfect one. The one Ottawa I went to had phad thai that was amazing. The one in Montreal has like 20 different prepared meals (the enchiladas are amazing). The new one in Montreal that we went to has one of the greatest things of all time. Sliced cheese. Imagine one of their big blocks of cheese but precut already. Now with precut cheese, precut pickles and sandwich meat my lunch prep time has dropped a lot. Not to mention I don’t even need a knife anymore. I can’t get over how awesome this is.
Dale‘s fiancee April came up to Montreal this weekend for some architecture competition. We didn’t actually see her all the much other than Friday when we went out for supper and then to some pub. As a side story, the pub we went to was messed up. There was “art” on some of the walls that was quite weird. We sat by a piece called “The Quilt” which was just pictures of girls boobs. You didn’t miss much. There was also drawings of people with their hands cut off and a set of legs with a mouth instead of a hoohoo. I don’t understand art at all.
Apparently we only have 8 weeks left in Montreal and it looks like we are pretty busy most of the weekends. This weekend we are going to 300 (hopefully in Imax) and then going sledding outside of Montreal. After that we have a trip to Ottawa and then some friends coming to visit us for a couple weeks.
