Still no 360
I’m starting to get upset over this xbox 360. My 360 broke at the beginning of January. I called Microsoft (1-800-4my-xbox) and let them know that my 2nd unit had broke. They said they would ship out an empty box for me to ship my 360 to them in. I wait 2 weeks, no box. Call up MS to find out what’s going on and they tell me that the order was placed for the empty box but the shipping department did not get it. Fine. They make a new order.
1.5 weeks later I get the empty box. I get the 360 shipped back to MS and they receive it the next day (Jan24). I call every 2nd day to find out what the status is. Every time they let me know it will take 6 business days from when they received my broken 360. Well, Feb1 was 6 days and still no 360.
I called up MS again today and they tell me they never received my broken 360. I give them the tracking number and eventually they admit they received the 360. The new update is that it’s going to be another 5-6 business days before they can ship me a fixed 360. This means I won’t have a working 360 until the middle of February. I asked them if they could refund my xbox live for the last month and a half but no go on that. Their excuse is that since they are fixing the 360′s for free they can’t afford to give out refunds on xbox live. Maybe if the 360′s didn’t break in the first place…
There are so many people with multiple 360′s breaking down. Matt from IGN is on his 5th. Apparently MS PR contacted him to find out what’s going on but that isn’t going to happen for everyone else who has issues.
I’ve called MS support so many times now I found some tricks so you don’t have to jump through all the hoops to get to an agent. The quickest way is to just say random stuff right off the start. Eventually after about 5 words that the system doesn’t understand it will give up and forward you to a “human”.

I agree 100%. Hopefully the 2nd generation of 360′s doesn’t suck.

My XBOX is incredible. I heard that when 360′s break it is usually because the owner doesn’t know how to use them properly.

So then if your gamer score is less than mine you should probably be expecting the “ring of death” soon.
