I was all by myself

With Christmas out of the way, Rach and I headed back up to Saskatoon on boxing day. I managed to convince her to let us stop at Future Shop so I could pick up the much needed Rainbow 6 for xbox 360. We devised a game plan before getting to FS as we expected the store to be packed. Rach went and got in line first thing while I went and got the game. The line up reached all the way down the aisle. It was insane. It took us about 20 minutes just to buy the game. I figured it was pretty good for boxing day. Later in the day we opened up gifts with her family. I was very surprised (and happy) when I got a HD-DVD player for the 360 from all of Rachel’s family. Hello HD movies.

Rach let me decide what our plans for New Years would be since she took the last couple years. We ended up going to Hemant‘s place for a few hours to start off the night. Rach said the party was “very grown up“. Apparently after we left there was a guy with no pants on for most of the night. After that we went to Melanie‘s place with a bunch of other couples. We played a card game called Killer Bunnies and I also played a few games of Giza. I’ve since played 2 games of Killer Bunnies and I think that is about it for me. Too much of the game is just random luck. Giza was an OK game but seemed relatively simple. I also played Bang! again at Colin’s place last night. Our game took about 2.5 hours to play with 7 people yet the box estimates between 10-20 minutes for a game.

My xbox 360 died again on Sunday. I called Microsoft and they are replacing it for free again. I’m a little upset because I just finished Final Fantasy 12 and now I have nothing to play. On top of that Rachel left me (dun dun dun) … for Montreal on Wednesday so now I have extra time for games. Sean went back to Halifax on Friday too. Luckily I have been way behind on movies so I have been watching lots this last week. I watched Saw 3 (meh), Blood Diamond (meh), Rocky Balboa (decent), Running Scared (decent), Borat (meh), and Children of Men (decent, Rach liked it a lot).

I have 2 weeks left in Saskatoon before I go back to Pandæmonium. Tonight I’m off to Brent’s place with Devin for Ukrainian Christmas (my first one). He told me to fast for a few days since there will be so much food. I haven’t ate since last night so I think I’m ready. Brent is moving to Washington to do his postdoc so we figured we should get together before his departure.
