I’m coming home

I booked my flight back to Saskatoon tonight.  I will be arriving November 23, 2006 at 1am.  I should be in Saskatoon until January 20 or something like that.  I will be open for Wok and Fudd’s dates.  Oh and squash.  I’m fat.  Squash 4 times a week.  Squash and Fudds.

My 360 has returned

My xbox 360 was returned to me today. I actually got a new unit (or at least the serial number is different). This was a really fast turn around. I’m pretty happy. I love Microsoft.
If you care about video games at all you may have read about some of the cool news for the 360 over the last couple days. The 360 has a thing called “xbox live arcade” where you can download smaller games for like $5. There have been some awesome games released on this already (Marble Blast Ultra, Geometry Wars) but I’m so excited for the new ones coming. We got Lumines Live (the puzzle game that would make you buy a PSP), Doom just came out tonight with multiplayer over xbox live, and for all the board game fans, Settlers of Catan. They will also be releasing Carcassonne and Alhambra (2 other popular board games). Wonderful!

And for big titles there is so many good games coming out. At x06 today (a big xbox conference in Europe I think) they showed some game play for Assassin’s Creed. If you watch this trailer you will buy this game!

360 is also getting Guitar Hero 2, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, Rainbow 6: Vegas, Gears of War, Call of Duty 3. I’m going to be so broke.  Check out IGN’s x06 page for more info for new games.

Oh, and Mario vs Donkey Kong 2 for Nintendo DS is some good stuff.  You should try out this game if you get a chance.  So far the puzzles have been pretty easy but I’m sure near the end I will start throwing stuff.

And if you read this far, Rachel made me leave the apartment today.  She had her nails taken off (gel nails from her toes not her actual nails with a pliers) and apparently was not suppose to walk in her shoes.  I had to walk her sandals down the street.  Good thing I showered today.  Some chick hit me with her purse.  She claims it was an accident when she pleaded “I’m so sorry!” but I know she actually meant “I missed your face”.  I blame Montreal.

Pictures of our apartment

Rachel took a bunch of pictures of our apartment now that we have all of our furniture.  Our deal was that she got to blog about it so you can check out her blog for pictures/details.  My only comment is that in the pictures our place looks pretty clean.  Well, clean as in no dirty dishes, clothes on the floor, garbage in the hallway, etc.  I’ve discovered that Rachel will actually clean before taking any pictures.  I will use this to my advantage in our life together.

Rachel and I are off to one of her classmates birthday parties tonight.  I intend to impress with my geekdom.  By impress with my geekdom I mean sit in the corner, alone.

Couches are awesome

Today was an interesting day. Well for me in Montreal. I sent my xbox 360 to Microsoft today, hopefully I get it back soon. Rachel’s birthday ipod video came today. It’s so awesome. It’s like half the size of my old 20gb ipod. Then our couches came today which is awesome. I would post a picture but I was told I was not allowed to. Rachel’s blog will have pictures tomorrow I imagine. In the afternoon I heard some dripping coming from the bathroom. I ran over there and there was a giant bubble formed in the ceiling. I called the landlord but they still haven’t come and looked at it (yes, it’s still there after 10 hours).

The bathroom ceiling

Since we didn’t have to sit on the floor to watch TV we caught up on all of our shows tonight. First we watched Smith which was really good. I don’t know where they will go after episode 1 but it has a good start, plus it has Jonny Lee Miller aka Dade ‘Zero Cool’ Murphy. Then we watched the premiere of CSI which was pretty solid. CSI has been consistently good each year and it looks like it will be for another. The crazy thing is that CSI was not the top show this week. CSI is always the top show. Guess who the winner was? Grey’s Anatomy. I guess I will have to start watching that show. After CSI we watched The Office which was so good Rachel was crying from laughing. Man, I love that show. Then we watched Jericho, another new show that seems to have some potential. It’s not as good as Smith but it was still worth watching a couple more episodes for sure. And finally, the season premiere of CSI: New York which also kicked some ass. That was it for me but Rachel kept on going with The Amazing Race. I am 100% reality TV show free this year.

A real bed and more good news

Leon’s was suppose to deliver our bed and couches by the 15th.  At the latest.  On the 15th we called Leon’s and they said the couches would not be here until the 23rd and bed not until October!  We obviously were not too pleased with this lie of the 15th.  Tonight we took matters into our own hands and purchased a bed from Ikea.  We bought a foam mattress so were able to get everything inside the RAV4.
So now we have almost a complete set of the Malm bedroom set from Ikea.  After canceling our bed from Leon’s (which felt great) they told us we will be getting our couches tomorrow.  Judging by how much Leon’s sucks I imagine by tomorrow they mean next week some time.

Rachel also has some good news that she has failed to blog about.  I don’t want to spoil it but lets just say it involves a bursary, money, and 6000 other things.
